Just need some tips on where to look and what to check for.....|||check for the smell and rust dents scratches make shure all the electrics work and make shure it still has a warrenty i no this because i have bought 3 bentleys and 2 of them were used and check if thiers cracking in the leather and if it has over 15,000 miles dont buy it|||Bentley and Rolls DO have an oil drain plug, I dont know where that info came from! Check service history ( A B and C services) The 6.75 liter V8 will use about a litre of oil every 1000 miles which is normal as they were desiged this way to provide UCL (upper cylinder lubricant) Big things to watch are the self levelling rear suspension and spring sag in the front, Rust on older models and earlier A/C inits can be a nightmare, Saging in the door hinges can cost a small fortune to remedy. The best thing to do is take any prospective vehicle to the authorised service agents for an appraisal, money well spent|||start with the usual checklist.
appearance: any rust, dents, nicks or scratches that may rust later on?
engine: start the engine, any abnormal noises that shouldn't be there? how do the fluids look? is the power steer fluid red? if its brown it needs changing. auto trans fluid red? or brown, needs change.
with Bentley's and all luxo cars check the service history. if its missing or patchy stay away.
bentlyes and rolls dont have drain plugs for the oil. they suck the fluid up thru the filler. id braise a drain plug in the motor to make services easier.
interior: how is the leather and wood? any cracking or splitting in either? not a cheap job as every rolls and bently is hand built. turn on the radio, does it work? radios are easy fixes just throw in another head unit when the old one dies.|||Craigslist.org
